Curveballs

This week’s blog is a little abbreviated because John is “under the weather” and I’m (Justin) guest blogging. In light of that the theme of the blog this week is the unexpectedness life can throw at you. It can, too. It can throw you curveballs when you least expect it. Are you ready for the curveballs? Can you be ready for the curveballs? How serious is the curveball? What’s your perception of the curveball? Can you turn a curveball into lemonade? Maybe I’ve mixed metaphors there… OR maybe you run into a great curveball. As it pertains to Real Estate, it seems that our students and others are getting some good curveballs. See even curveballs can be curveballs. Enough with the “asymptotics” of life.

This isn’t really a surprise, but an interesting article on rents vs. mortgage payments. I think I knew this was happening, but interesting to see the actual stats even if they aren’t local.

With all the building and expanding, some people are downsizing? Anyone interested?

Lastly, we have some other information we can relate to in our market. Anyone remember when we could buy $50-60k houses in Denver? It seems those days have past.

 

The latest Mortgage Rates: 30 Year fixed at 3.72% and 5/1 ARMS at 2.74%! Expect investor (non-owner occ) rates to run about ½ point higher on non-owner occ loans. (These are AOL/Zillow.com reported average rates as of Thursday)
