Happy Thanksgiving! It’s a wonderful time of the year and the only way to start off the best time of the year (for holidays, not weather). Give thanks. Are you intentional about giving thanks? We live in one of the most (if not THE most) privileged nations in the world and often times take what we have and the people in our lives for granted (I’m guilty!). I’m not sure who started the trend or first wrote it, but if you have a tough time with gratitude – here’s a challenge. Look at the things in your life that most people would call hindrances, inconveniences, and annoyances and flip the script – turn them into a display of gratitude. Here are some examples. I’m grateful for 1) A house of screaming kids – it means I can hear and I have a family to love. 2) A flat tire – it means I have a car to drive. 3) Dirty dishes – it means those dishes were full of food. 4) Sore muscles after shoveling snow – it means I have arms and legs that work. 5) Taxes (OUCH) – it means I was able to make money to provide for my family. This list can go on and on and it’s not an exercise for just one day a year. Let’s be thankful for all the blessings in life this year – big and small. I hope you had a wonderful day of thanks and relaxation with friends or family. See you here next week!
