The median rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Colorado will run $1268/mo., but Metro Denver rents are significantly higher. Denver is the most expensive with a median of $1540, with Broomfield, Centennial and Littleton not far behind. Arvada and Northglenn have seen the greatest increases, with new medians of $1280 and $1210. Aurora is the most affordable with a median of $1190. Tack on $100-200/mo. for each additional bedroom.
Crime stoppers in multi-family housing
Denver police and landlords are considering a program that aims to reduce crime by triggering an eviction if a tenant is involved in crime. Better tenants = happier landlords. The program is optional to landlords and requires training. Similar programs already exist in Longmont, Lakewood, Northglenn and Aurora.
