We live in a society that wants to be loved, to please, and to run at 100 mph at all times, so we obligatorily say “yes” in order to build that acceptance, keep busy, make that extra dollar. Ultimately, many end up buried under a pile of misplaced intentions, underwhelming results, and expiring tasks wondering what happened. Or maybe stress or guilt is the theme of life and the question is why? As investors we see the damage that can result from a contractor who won’t say no (not to pick on the contractors) – why would we think it’s any different for ourselves? Prioritize, specialize, and focus your eyes on the tasks that are meaningful to your goals and what needs to be done. Stress and worry turn into pride (the good pride) and accomplishment. Re-action becomes pro-action and everyone ends up happier…

It looks like rent is starting to put on the brakes. We’ve got three straight months of slowed appreciation. Have you tried to count the cranes in the skyline of Denver lately? I was trying to count the number of cranes from I-25, I think I got to 20. Some of these buildings are starting to open and that looks to have the trickle-down effect on rents.
