Landlords, listen up
There is a new bill going through the state legislature that will require landlords to give reason for rejecting a tenant application. The bill will also put limits on the amount charged for screenings to avoid landlords using them to make extra money. The bill will also impose fines for violations. Apparently, this bill is better than a similar bill last year, which means its more likely to pass. Keep this on your radar!
Looser lending for some
As housing prices continue to rise, more and more people find themselves unable to qualify for a loan. That’s not good for lenders, who can’t find enough new buyers. So, lenders are starting to loosen requirements for people with high incomes and good credit scores. This is good news for sellers, as we love the “multiple offers over asking price” scenario.
